Volunteering on Campus
Volunteers are an integral part of Victor’s instructional program. Our active PTA organizes groups of volunteers for programs in and out of the classroom. In addition, you can contact your child’s teacher directly to see how you can assist in the classroom.
Please note: Torrance Unified School District requires that all volunteers who participate at school on a regular basis must fill out a volunteer form every year and have certification of a recent negative Mantoux Tuberculosis (TB) skin test or X-ray on file in the school office. These results must be updated every four years.

First Day Packets Volunteers Needed
Our PTA will be collating First Day Packets on Thursday, September 2nd from 9am - 12pm. If you're able to help, even for an hour or so, please contact Zee Harb at z.harb@hotmail.com.
Lunch and Cafeteria Information
The cafeteria will be serving breakfast and lunch on the first day in the cafeteria. Breakfast is served between 8:20 and 8:50 in our cafeteria at a cost of $1.50. The cost of lunch is $3.00, which includes milk and a healthy meal. Please check the website for the monthly menu. Children of course may bring a snack lunch to school. Please be sure to pack healthy lunches and do not send soda or candy. All students now have an automated lunch card that they use to purchase lunch in the café. You may add any amount onto the lunch card at anytime via the internet at . Forms for this card are available in the office.
Early Out Wednesdays to Continue
We will continue to have minimum days every Wednesday so we can hold our TUSD School Board adopted Professional Learning Communities (PLC). Every Wednesday, dismissal for grades one through five will be 2:27. Kindergarten dismissal remains the same at 2:00.

Summer Reading Lists
Please have your children read over the summer!
Beginning of School Information/ Office Hours
Our offices will be closed beginning Friday, June 30th. We will reopen on Wednesday, August 18th from 9:00 - 11:30. The office will be open full time beginning Wednesday, September 1st from 8:00 to 11:30 and 1:30 - 3:30.
The first day of school is Wednesday, September 8th. The school hours will be the same as this year. Remember that Wednesday is early out with students being dismissed at 2:27.
Class lists will be posted outside the office on Tuesday, September 7th after 5:00 PM. Please do not call the office to inquire who your child has as a teacher. Thank you!
Tuesdays for TUSD!
Help support Torrance Schools through the S.O.S. Campaign
Every Tuesday is for the Torrance Unified School District. ‘Tuesdays for TUSD’ is a partnership with community businesses to help raise money for the “Save Our Schools (SOS)” effort. Shop at one of the participating establishments on Tuesdays and a percentage of your bill will be donated back to SOS!
Two more businesses have joined the ‘Tuesdays for TUSD’ program – Outback Steakhouse and Salon del Sol. Please visit www.tusd.org, go to the “Tuesdays for TUSD” page, and print out the SOS coupon. Show the coupon, a red wristband, wear your SOS T-Shirt, or show your student ID to ensure a portion of your bill is donated back to SOS. Restaurant and retailers will be added daily so visit www.tusd.org for the latest information regarding this great program. Please note, establishments highly encourage bringing in the SOS coupon so they can keep a proper record of the promotion.
This summer the SOS effort will be going strong with ‘Tuesdays for TUSD.’ While out with friends and family, visit participating locations, have a great time, and help raise money for TUSD!
