 Victor PTA President's Message Minimize

Dear Victor Families:

We are getting ready to kick off our first ever Direct Donation Fundraiser, and I thought I would take a minute to explain how simple this will be for Victor families and friends and why it is so crucial that it be a success.

This year we will NOT be asking your children to go out and sell items. No more collecting and keeping track of money, reviewing orders, or making deliveries.  Instead, we are asking you, your family members and friends to make a Direct Donation to the Victor School PTA.

Parents and community members often ask me where our fundraising money goes. The answer is simple.  Over 99% of your generously donated dollars go directly to benefitting our children here at Victor.  On average, our PTA spends approximately $100.00 per student per year.  On what, you ask? Here is a partial list:

  1. At least $250 goes to each and every teacher here at Victor for classroom support.
  2. Our wonderful Adventures in Art Program. Just look at the website of Victor students doing their Adventures In Art projects. So many smiling faces!
  3. The Victor Library is funded entirely from your PTA dollars.
  4. Educational field trips and transportation are paid through your PTA donations.
  5. Educational programs such as Walk Though the Revolution and Walk Through California.
  6. Many of our family events including Family Math Nights, International Pot Luck Dinner, and Camp Victor are sponsored by the PTA.
  7. The fabulous and highly successful Science Fair.
  8. Victor’s Character Counts program.
  9. Victor’s music program is supported by PTA.
  10. Our community is kept well informed by our Teleparent system, purchased for Victor with your PTA dollars.
  11. Many capital upgrades, including our amazing Computer Lab come from PTA funds.

Clearly, our children benefit from and enjoy the many programs Victor PTA supports.  We depend on you as the parents, grandparents, families and friends of our students to help us meet the challenge of making the Victor experience the very best it can be! But to keep these and all the other PTA sponsored programs available to our children, we need your support.

Our goal for this year’s Direct Donation fundraiser is a minimum of $30.000, or roughly $30 per student.  This is a large portion of that $100 per student the PTA spends, so your participation is critical!

The process is simple.  Please visit the Victor website (http://victor.tusd.org/) or check your recent E Blast email and look for the Direct Donation link. To give you flexibility, you can either make a one time donation or choose to have a designated amount charged to your credit or debit card on a regular basis. How much you give is up to you. It is that simple. We also want you to know that this system incorporates the latest in security technology, so you can rest easy knowing your personal information is protected.

Please don’t forget the other great ways to support the PTA! Purchasing Scrip, money you would be spending anyway. Having a fun night out to dinner at our restaurant nights, buying great books at our Book Fairs, and of course the kid’s favorite, the Spring Jog-a-thon are all ways to help give.

As parents, our children depend on us for so much, and know that we can be trusted to come through when it counts. They are counting on us right now to make this school year a huge success. Please take a moment to visit the website, click the link, and show our kids that we support them with our love, our encouragement, and our dollars.

Thank you for your continuing support.
